Celebrate some of the great music that stems from our American roots. PFC’s spring concert, Journey’s End: American Bluegrass, Folksongs, and Spirituals, will feature Come Away to the Skies: A High Lonesome Mass, the 2011 creation of Wes Ramsey and Tim Sharp. This delightful work uses American folk hymns set to traditional texts and features a Bluegrass band for accompaniment. The concert will also include choral settings of folksongs and spirituals by some of the best American composers. These wonderful pieces are also to honor Bill Richter and Elizabeth Chapman Reilly as they retire from Pilgrim Festival Chorus after 27 years of leadership. The Scituate performance will feature Scituate High School Select Choir.
